Education + experience.
I graduated in 2012 from the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers, where I completed a book-length poetry manuscript and honed the craft of writing and editing critical and academic essays. After graduate school, I worked for a time as a professor of college composition. I was also an undergraduate writing major, and I was employed in college as the head of the writing tutor program, as a writing tutor myself, and as the Managing Editor of Green Mountains Review. After college, I worked as the Grants Program Manager at the Vermont Studio Center, the country’s largest artists and writers colony. My position there entailed writing grant proposals, editing content, and participating in the jury review of fellowship applicant manuscripts. Later, I completed Maine’s New Ventures program, which supported me in drafting my first complete business plan. I have since been working in Maine as a successful small business entrepreneur.
I have training, education, and deep personal interest in the areas of natural health, fitness, nutrition, yoga, meditation, wellness, alternative medicine, medicinal cannabis, gardening, cooking, mountain biking, and surfing.
